Scott will take you through the use of oil paints to achieve a still life study in these 2  sessions. Please bring traditional, or water mixable oils with you, and cleaning materials/brushes etc. Board to paint on will be provided.

A great way of upcycling tiles and broken ceramics to create a vibrant mosaic piece over two mornings. Kirsty will instruct you and guide you with your creation.

All materials provided, but do please bring broken/old ceramics you may wish to include.

Claire will be explaining the meaning of complimentary colours and working on exercises of how to use them for best effect. Using the intensity of a colour to make it pop and come forward and using the subtlety to create distance in a painting. We will make a colour wheel using these 3 colours Lemon yellow, ultramarine blue and Quinacridone   magenta. Please ensure you bring these colours and w/c paper and brushes.

Join us for a whole day spent making soft woven baskets. This is a traditional form of basket and can easily be produced in just a few hours, under Jean’s expert tuition. All materials provided.

Claire will be showing you how to draw accurately with a grid,  including how you can scale up and down. Also  instructing you on proportions and getting angles correct. You will also be practicing tonal values and composition. All you will need is cartridge paper and a 2b pencil.

No experience necessary for this short course on watercolours. We will look at the different paints and papers available, which brushes do what, and how to mix the paint. We will look at how to achieve washes and paint simple landscapes. All materials provided.
